We have had a great week meeting our new class mates and finding out what they like and don’t like. We also made a trip to our new classrooms and looked at how they were different to ours. They are all very excited and enjoyed finding out about each other.
We have also been learning a song for a forth coming end of term concert… watch this space to find out more.
The more we practise the better we get! This week we have become stars at counting, adding together two groups of objects and working out number problems.
Next week we will be learning about beach safety in preparation for our beach trip.
We will also be returning to looking at 3D shapes and their properties.
Have a great weekend my little superstars!
Please be aware that the train on Friday 11th July will be very busy as we have been informed there is another school travelling on the same train. We had booked a carriage but there was clerical error and they have double booked the 9:37 a.m train from Bromley South, which means unfortunately we don’t have any reserved seats. We just wanted to let you know in advance as the train will be very busy. For the return journey (15:41) we have managed to reserve 100 seats so we suggest you take this train home. The school teachers will be leaving on the 15:11 train as we have arranged to bring the children who are travelling with us back at that time. The same school party are returning on the 15.11 train hence why we suggest you take the 15:41 (or later) train for ease of comfort.
Ahoy me pirate crew, we have done some amazing learning this week. We have been learning about pirates. We looked at different pirate books. The children know some super facts. In numeracy we looked at distance. The children made paper planes and measured how far they travelled.
Next week we will continue to look at pirates. In numeracy we will be looking at numbers. We will be ordering and finding one more and one less than a given number.
I will not be in class on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as I am on a course.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Ahoy there mateys, after half term we have lots of pirate fun in store for you. We will be looking at all the equipment pirates need and will even be turning into pirates arrrrrrselves :-)! In numeracy we will be looking at distance, I wonder who lives the furthest from school or who can throw a ball the furthest? We will also be looking at some clues for treasure, will they make sense or will they be silly?
Could you please bring in any empty bottles you may have at home and a plain old tee-shirt to design.
Although this has been a short week we have still managed to get so much learning done – you are amazing RIH! We have become authors and written our own stories based on Superworm, I think the publishers will be knocking on our doors soon! In maths we have been looking at the difference between 2D and 3D shapes.
Well done for yet another great week superstars!
On Friday the 23rd of May it’s our annual activity day at Rosendale. Every child will need to bring a packed lunch with them on the day, even if they are doing an activity that happens at school.
If your child normally has free school meals a packed lunch will be provided for them.
Please can you also ensure that your child has a PE kit with them if they are doing a sport activity. They can come to school in their PE kit if this makes things easier.
Here are the activities your child has chosen to do on MAPP day.

We have been busy bees this week in Reception! We were lucky to continue our work on Dinosaurs looking at where they lived and discussing all the amazing facts the children knew. Thank you for teaching me so much about Dinosaurs, you are great teachers RIH! All children thoroughly enjoyed the trip the National History Museum, a huge thank you to all the adults that came with us! We couldn’t do trips without all your help.
In numeracy we have been looking at time – not looking at clocks but seeing what kind of things we can do in a certain amount of time. I am really impressed with the musical abilities of the children in RIH; they were amazing at playing along to the story ‘Rumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus’!
Next week we will be revisiting 3D shapes (and their properties) and reading the very exciting story of a brave Superworm!!!
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine!!
