The class that loves to learn

Category Archives: Numeracy

Today we made paper planes and measured how far they travelled using footprints.

Here is some examples of the children halving. They have been amazing at halving. Is there something they could half at home?

Today the children have been learning to share between 4 people. We have been rolling a dice to see how many biscuits we had to share. The children had to be really clear because sometimes we didn’t have enough to share evenly so they had to do some brilliant thinking. Some of the children suggested putting some back so it was fair while some of the other children suggested getting some extra ones so that everyone had the same.

We made bread using numicon and have been sharing it so that we have the same amount.

Today we have been learning about sharing. We have talked about putting one in each area at a time and then counting at the end to make sure we have the correct amount.
