The class that loves to learn

Monthly Archives: October 2013

What a week it’s been! The children have been really good at keeping secrets and surprising Barnaby Bear with a party yesterday. Thank you so much to all those who donated food so generously, the children (and Barnaby) really enjoyed the party.

The children have been super at counting this week. They were doing it slowly, putting things in a line, speaking out loud and touching each one – a great way to help us count accurately!

The sounds we have learned to far are, s a t p i n m d g o c k e u r b f l h.

Can we use these sounds to make a word?

The words we have learned to far are, I me a at it is and dad can as an dog cat to the get big had.

Can we use any of these words to make a sentence?

After the break we will be exploring fireworks and the story of Guy Fawkes, we will be unleashing our inner poets and creating some poetry. Can you practise rhyming words over the holiday?

We will be starting to look at shapes and will be becoming shape detectives. What shapes will you come across during the holiday?

We will be making fireworks, (pretend of course!) so it would be greatly appreciated if you could donate some plastic bottles for this after the holiday.

Well done to EVERYONE in RMH for such a great first term, if the rest of the year goes like this I’m sure we’re going to have lots of fun and learn SO much. I cannot wait

Have a fantastic break and relax! Looking forward to seeing you all in November.

Check out the video of Barnaby’s birthday party. The children have been the best party planners in the whole wide world. They pulled off his party without a hitch. Barnaby had no idea that they had planned him a party. Thank you to all the parents who provided food.

Here are some pictures of the yummy cakes made for Barnaby’s fifth birthday party.

The children wrote down the sound of the day. Have a look. Can you think of a word with the sound in?

Here are the children singing ‘Happy Birthday’ in a different language. Ask them to tell which language they are singing in.

Today we made some cakes for Barnaby Bear’s birthday. The children worked as a team to mix the mixture. Check out the pictures of them working as a team.

Guess the sound we have learnt. Can you write a word with your parents at home that starts with the sound?

Here are some videos about birthdays. Check them out.

The children have learnt a new sound. Can you guess what it is?
